[/b] ,, It is important to maintain a level of respect here at all times. Kochi should be seen as a welcoming site that accepts everyone equally, not one that harbors rudeness. CONTENT,, We ask that you keep everything PG-13 to abide by Proboards TOS. Such things as violence, romance, are allowed here as long as it is kept tasteful. Well thought out wording can bump mature content down to a resepctable level. ADVERTISING,, Advertising anywhere but the advertising boards is prohibited. You are allowed to link your site in your profile but please don't bring unnecessary attention to it unless the actual advertisement has been placed on the board. ACCOUNTS,, We are an account per member forum meaning all of your characters will be held under one account. CHARACTERS,, We do not have a limit on how many characters you can make but please be aware of your own limitations. We don't want to watch you burn yourself out! Also, we do not abide by the 'gender ratio rule' so don't fret about making a girl if there's already a ton running around. CANONS,, They are not allowed here as a playable character but you may use them as a face claim. References, on the other hand, are fine (ie. meeting them in person) but relationships are not allowed. FACE CLAIMS,, Face claims are not a required part of Kochi. We allow the use of both animated face claims and real people. Keep in mind that only celebrities, models, and singers can be used and some have openly prohibited use of their face. GYM AND CONTEST LEADERS,, Kochi has its own set of gym and contest hall leaders. You can only create one if you have made twenty in character posts on a single character account or properly auditioned for one. They have two sets of pokemon: a personal set which they use as any trainer might and an official set which are used during challenges. In the event that a gym or contest leader cannot come on to participate in a challenge, a replacement NPC will be summoned. Their team of pokemon will be left unknown until that time comes. POSTING,, We do not recognize a word count here but a single paragraph or five sentences post minimum is in effect. Given our genre, this shouldn't be too difficult. For-fun threads and events (unless stated) are exempt from this. GOD-MODDING,, Godmodding, also known as god mode, is a well known term that is used to describe a character that is liken to a god, ie. able to control their opponents movements or otherwise unbeatable in every way. Roleplaying is not a single-player activity so keep that in mind when typing up your posts. This also covers the use of powerplaying and meta-gaming. [/ul] [/div][/div] |

POKEMON AND THE JOURNEY[/b] ,, The inhabitants of Kochi have banned the importation of foreign pokemon to keep any diseases that the kochi-raised pokemon are not immune to. This means any character traveling to Kochi must make that journey alone. They must visit Professor Holly's Laboratory, the Collector's Hut, or the Gypsy Camp to receive their new starter. Even Kochians trainers and coordinators must go through the process of obtaining their starter from those three options to maintain the tradition. TEAM LIMIT,, Only six pokemon can be carried including a pokemon considered a 'companion' (as in, always out of their pokeball). The rest will be moved to your character's Personal Computer. Civilians are limited to six pokemon total. MOVE SET,, Pokemon can learn up to six moves. Five can be naturally learned and only one can be a tm or hm move. You can always opt out for all six being naturally learned if you want. Follow the most recent move list to determine what moves your character can have. EGG MOVES,, Starter pokemon can sometimes have egg moves. This is more common at the gypsy camp, occasionally at the collector’s hut, and very rare at the pokemon laboratory. Hatched pokemon will always have one egg move and will sometimes start with two. ABILITIES,, Pokemon abilities are optional. They do have their advantages and some are very helpful in battle but you must state whether you’re using them or not at the beginning. Dream World abilities are not allowed. LEVELS,, Due to kochi’s easy-going atmosphere, the pokemon level quite quickly. One to three levels can be granted to your pokemon depending on the difficulty of the battle. One level can be granted to pokemon that have fainted in battle but not guaranteed. An exp. share will grant you an extra half-level regardless of whether the pokemon took part in the battle or not. Lucky eggs will grant you an extra level but your pokemon has to have been part of the battle for a minimum of one turn. RARE CANDIES,, Rare candies are available in every town’s pokemart but are very pricy. They are not uncommon here and are often given out during special events, either randomly or as prizes. They grant only one extra level and can be used at any time. PERSONAL COMPUTERS,, These are required so the staff can keep track of your character’s current pokemon and items. You can include anything else but you must have your current items and pokemon’s species name, level, gender, and moves posted in your personal computer. A link must be in your signature. You are the only one responsible for updating your PC. JOURNEY,, You must travel through each route to reach the next city. Each route thread must include at least two full battles that either result in the capture of a pokemon or the defeat of the wild pokemon OR fulfill a mission or event spawned by a mod. To move on to the next route after reaching a city, your character must make a challenge to either the gym or contest hall. You do not have to win--a challenge is all that is needed-- but it must be completed before you can move on. COMMON SENSE,, Use common sense when it comes to pokemon interaction (battling, simple trainer-to-pokemon interactions, etc.). Your character will not be able to push a Rhyhorn out of the way and the same Rhyhorn may not be able to dodge an agile pokemon during battle. MOD THREADS,, Mod threads are simple journey threads for the sake of progressing through the region. To let the staff know they are welcome to enter, please place [mod] in your thread title. Pokemon will be generated depending on the habitat the route offers. No list will be provided so keep in mind the description of the route that is given. WILD POKEMON,, You do not always have to battle these. Sometimes they may need some help which might result in something good or bad and sometimes they might just want your character’s attention. To catch one you don’t always have to fight it until it faints or weakens; some might follow you willingly! Just pay attention to hints or notes in the mod replies so you know what to expect [/ul]
